I have a query regarding my Compaq Presario 2500.
For some reason the brightness function keys have stopped working. It used to be when I pressed “fn+ F1” or “fn + f2” the brightness of my screen would go up and down. Now F1 + F2 act like they do whenever the FN key is not pressed ie F1 brings up the help box and F2 opens an icon rename dialogue box. The FN key works with the volume buttons so im not sure why this is occurring, but its very irritating given that to get full brighness I need to use the power pack.
I have freshly reinstalled windows twice with no resolution of the problem, and can find other instances on the web, but no solutions. Has anyone any idea how to fix this?
