Browser issues

My daughter is taking an online college course. She’s having an issue where some of the answers she is to pick from have radio buttons showing red Xs next to them where a picture of different chart is supposed to be displayed for the answer.

It’s not a broken picture graphic.

She is able to view the page fine on her work computer.
We’ve tried IE6, 7 and 8 and Firefox 3.5.7 on six different computers here at home but nothing works.

The school’s website has a checker that checks computers for compatibility and all computers test fine.

All browsers are set at the default settings for all zones and on the Advanced tab so the check box for ‘Show pictures’ is checked.

We’ve the latest Flash and Shockwave downloads.
Scans with various AV and Anti-Malware products show these computers to be clean.

I just now noticed that Firefox won’t save my website Passwords. I wonder if the two issues are related although I believe that the other computers are fine.
The router is a D-Link DIR-655 if that’s of any help.
We’ve not had issues with pictures not displaying on any other website, just the school’s site.
So, this is a two part question. How do I fix IE so there are pictures instead of red Xs and/or how do I restore the ability to save passwords in Firefox?
