Build an IP wireless microphone system

by jan.thostrup . Updated 11 years, 8 months ago

I run a service team maintaining turbines worldwide. I am looking for a low cost system – either existing, or DIY kit – that I can use as a prototype for testing.
We need to be able to install a temporary ‘health detector’ on turbines to record over a month the vibrations and oscillations from bearings and motor.
One microphone placed at a central spot should be able to pick up a frequency range from 15Hz to 15KHz so ensure we record all harmonics from oscillations/vibrations.
The system can be plugged to 230V. Data transfer must be via the internet router on location.
All data will be sent to a cloud server.
As I see it we will then be able to determine the health of the turbines without having engineers on-site and we should be able to predict and plan more efficient service periods as well as only replacing down worn bearings.
Does anybody have an idea as how I can build this?
Thanks in advance!
Jan
