We are in BPO business and having State of Art setup located at the heart of Kolkata (formerly Calcutta) with 120 HP nodes and 2 IBM (X2225) Servers. Business Process Management is often used in the same context as Application Performance Management. It all depends on how the vendor has coined the phrase. Essentially, this is the process of migrating an IT shop from reacting when a problem is reported by users to getting in-front of the problem by using probes and monitoring live customer transactions. The monitors will trigger alarms based on predefined conditions and alert support to address the problem. BPM or APM is something that must be adopted across the organization. In addition to the supporting software, processes and the overall culture must change to be successful.

Gartner has just released their findings of the top vendors offering BPM/APM. Good Luck!
