A secretary manages appointment calendars for two managers. These are two different calendar files (i. e. ?mailbox.pst? files). She has delegate access to both files. Both managers are using Outlook 2000.
Manager #1 has the mailbox file on the Exchange 5.5 server. No problem with appointments that delegate enters and pop-up reminders.
Manager #2 is a senior executive level manager who travels. He does not want his E-mail stored on the server. This enables him to work with it off-line when he is traveling and not connected to the network. He maintains his outlook mailbox on his hard disk drive. When Manager #2 is online and the secretary updates a calendar appointment for Manager #2, he does not receive a notification unless he manually opens the other calendar file on the Exchange server. For some reason, the new calendar information is not sent to his calendar folder on his hard disk drive. When he is logged onto the LAN, E-mail is redirected automatically and immediately from the Exchange server to his local mailbox file on his hard disk drive as soon as he accesses Outlook. E-mail pops-up and notifies him that he has new E-mail, while he is working in Outlook.
