Writing a key logger?

by stress junkie In reply to calling Exe from Client

I imagine that you are trying to figure out how to trigger some virus that you're writing to send its report to you. What you're asking would be good to use if you have a key logger program on someone's computer. Maybe you want to create a remotely controlled bot that you can use to create a denial of service attack or to send spam.

It's my understanding that most virus writers are ambitious enough to do their own research. You should probably just use scripts that other sociopaths have written.

Keep us posted about your progress.

Well you can try that

by Tony Hopkinson In reply to Use ActiveX Object in scr ...

My system will come up with an alert, and I'll press the button marked NO.
Seriously this idea should have died along time ago, I wouldn't write anything that requires this to work, because anyone with two connected gray cells won't let it.
This is a standard trick used by the nasties, so even if you are reputable person with a perfectly acceptable reason to do, I would bin your software the first time it asked.

Something to consider, should your business rely on this vast security flaw being available ?

Like Stress Junkie, I'm intensely suspicious of anyone who wants to use this mechanism, after all it relies on unquestioning trust, which is a bit hard when you're wearing a striped shirt, domino mask and got a big sack with SWAG written across it, on your shoulder.
