Camera connection problem

1024 RAM
Assus P4VP-MX

When I connect my camera to the computer, the computer acknowledges the connection and pops up a window to view/download the pictures, but then I can’t access the pictures. I’ve tried 3 different programs, including Windows Explorer, and can not access the pictures, yet I can hook the camera to another computer and have no trouble getting the pictures. This is my primary computer and I’d really like to be able to use it to download from the cameras.
