      I have a Dell Inspiron 7567. It came along with extra ram and SSD slots. Today, I am using Both SSD and my normal hard drive on my dell laptop.

      The SSD is for my OS while the hard drive is for my normal file storage

      yes you can attach an extra ssd if you have compatible slot. Check if it is for an ssd or an extra ram slot and expand accordingly.

        Yes, you are right. An empty slot can help in attaching SSD or ram
        depending upon the compatibility of the slot. The empty slots help
        in systems up-gradation as well.
