Can constantly having my laptop plugged in ruin it?

for the past 3 months I’ve constantly have had my gaming laptop Charger plugged in, is this safe?

From my experience, no significant issues doing so. At worst it might shorten the life of the battery. When I had a laptop constantly left plugged in, I would remove the battery from the laptop. Keep in mind that some laptops may not be as easy to do that For example, when I used a MacBook Air, the battery could not be easily removed like on my Toshiba Satellite laptop.

With over 100 laptop over 5+ years, we saw little to no issues with this.
The only time it was a problem was when the user would YOINK the cable as they moved the laptop and stress out the charge port.

As to battery life we would cycle out laptops at 5 years. Those laptops that were plugged in for 5 years measured at the lowest about 86% capacity with most well above 95% so there’s nothing going on there.

But these were office grade laptops such as the Dell Lattitude. Maybe the cheapest consumer laptops don’t fare as well but my answer is no, don’t fret about it.

Should be fine. But still if your not using it I’d just unplug it.
