Can I easily Add a Win2K BDC onto an NT 4.0 Domain

By jvanlunenburg ·
I was told the only way to add a Win2K server to an NT 4.0 Domain was as a Member server. Is this in fact correct? If not, would I expect any setup issues in relation to Active Directory?

I believe not

A Win2K to be a domain controller must be installed as NT server BDC then promote to PDC and upgrade to Win2K AD. NT can be BDC in Win2K enviroment. Win2K has to be primary.

Win2k Server can never be BDC to a NT4 Server

A NT4 Server can be a BDC to a Windows 2000 DC but not vice versa. Yes a Windows 2000 Server can only join a NT domain as a member server.
