I want to see a list of the 150+ IT security policy documents before I subscribe.

Also – are they only in PDF format? Will we have to copy past from PDF > Word for every document?

    Thanks
    Adam

      No and yes.

However if you find a document you want to move to Word you could ask the author.

In parting there may be use limitations to TR IT documents. That is some collect such to use to build their own library for sale.

      Why Word?

        We’ve got a list now

We created a list of the documents.

I noticed the sample PDF is branded with TechRepublic – we need to take the content and tailor it to our requirements which is why I was asking if they were available in an editable form – I guess I can have one of my team just copy paste the content

I’d like to know what the use limitations are – we only intend to use them for our own company internal use – have no intention of selling on.

Scraping web sites for content is either frowned on or violates many agreements. Be sure to have your legal department sign off on this so you don’t create a problem for your legal team to address.

Here’s a line that is chilling:
“You are only permitted to access and view the Content for personal, non-commercial purposes in accordance with this Agreement, and may not build a business or other enterprise utilizing any of the Content, whether for profit or not.”

So it appears at my first glance what you appear to be doing is not allowed.

I was under the impression these documents were for companies to use as a basis for their own internal polices but will confirm we can use them for internal use – seems pointless them selling a subscription for documents which you cannot use

Was clear to me. You (meaning you) can read such. But above you want to scrape them and use them for your company (which could be you but then why scrape and edit?)

Again, as I read it the subscription is for you. Maybe they have a company plan?
