Hi there – first post, so please bear with me.
I work for a lawfirm which is integrating Macintosh computers into what was a PC peer-to-peer network. We are moving the assistants to Macs, and some of the attorneys are staying on PCs. Our billing/timekeeping program is specific to Windows, as is one of our real estate document drafting programs – the assistants need to be able to use these programs, but we are hesitant to install VMWare or Parallels on their machines because of the complexity for the users in managing two machines, though we are certainly considering it as a less-than-ideal option.
My question is this: is there a way to set up a remote-login to a Windows computer on our network so that you can run these Windows programs on a PC while sitting at your Macintosh workstation? I am just looking for a way to access the Windows machine from a Mac via our P2P network. I’ve considered using LogMeIn or other internet-based remote login programs, but I wondered whether there isn’t a more direct way to set this up. Any feedback or thoughts much appreciated.
