Can I simplify this array

I have multiple copies of this array formula on my excel 2000 worksheet. This makes the worksheet very slow when changing exsisting data or adding new data. Is there any way of simplifying and therefore making the calculations quicker

=SUM(($K35:$K65536=”Y”)*($L35:$L65536=”C”)*(EC35:EC65536))
