While connecting my power supply cord, there was a spark and now the repair agency says that the whole power supply circuitry is blown. Motherboard needs to be replaced. Laptop works fine with battery. So instead of changing the motherboard, is there anyway to takeout the battery and charge it externally and then use it to run my laptop. External batteries will not work as they have to plugged in into the same DC input jack. Any advise will be highly appreciated as a new motherboard will be too expensive for me.
