Re: Add vista client in NT 4.0 Domain.

Please manually create a computer account on the NT domain controller to resolve the issue:

1. Logon to the NT domain controller.

2. Open Administrative Tools -> Server Manager.

3. Click Computer menu -> Add to domain.

4. Select "Windows NT workstation or server" and then enter the computer name of the Windows Vista machine. Then click Add.

5. Apply the changes.

6. Now try to join the Vista computer into the domain.

Please post back if you have any more problems or questions.

You will have to lower the authentication level Vista uses by following the directions below.
Click Start, Run and type secpol.msc and press Enter, run it as administrator if required.
Under Local Policies\Security Options
By right clicking and selecting Properties, change the value of Network Security: LAN Manager authentication level from Send NTVLM2 responses only to LM and NTLM - use NTLMv2 session security if negotiated. Click OK and exit out, restart the PC.
