I have a home/office network with 3 Win 98SE computers with Fat 32 formatted HDs, 1 machine with Win 2000 pro and a Fat 32 HD and 1 Win XP machine with an NTFS formatted HD. The Win XP machine is the primary computer in the group and it was set-up before I found out that sharing between data between Fat32 and NTFS HDs may be a problem. Is there a way to allow all the different machines to access each other’s files. I WANT open access since there is no need for any permission restrictions between the machines. It is fine for all of them to see all of each machine’s HDs and have unlimited read/write access. Can this be done and if so, how? What protocol is best to use for the network? I have TCP/IP and NetBeui on all the machines. I access the internet with an external DSL modem hooked to a router which doles out the IP addresses to each of the connected devices and to a shared printer with it’s own IP address (there is a fast ethernet switch box in between to give me enough plug-ins).
