Can work follow which city im using their computer from?

Hey,

Basic situation is we are gonna work from home and our work will provide us with computers and they say that we will have to work from the same city where our office is.

Question is can my workplace somehow follow whether I am in that city?
Because I want to work from my home town.

And if so can I somehow alter this so they wouldn’t see im in a different city?
