Can you use a 8 pin to 6 pin adapter for a graphic card/Video Card?

    by notsosmarttechguy ·

So recently I bought a graphic card attempting to run off a second monitor but the one I got was a 6 pin but my PSU or PC has a 8 Pin and no 6 pin. I was thinking about getting a adapter so I did my research on it and everyone’s saying that it should be illegal to sell them or they will burn your house down but when I looked more into it it was for 6 pin to 8 pin but I need the exact opposite so I came on here wondering if it would work or fry my motherboard and burn down my house. If your wondering which graphics card I got a MSI gaming GeForce GTX 1650 4GB and for my PSU (Power Supply) I have a Aresgame AGV650. If you have any info on this please let me know because I have about a week or two to get this done. Thanks!
