Canada's screwed up politicians

By Oz_Media ·
"OTTAWA -- Canadian Alliance MP Larry Spencer, his party's family issues critic, says he'd support any initiative to put homosexuality back in the Criminal Code of Canada.

The U.S.-born former Baptist pastor also argues that the gay- rights movement's recent successes in areas like same-sex marriage stem from a "well-orchestrated ... conspiracy" that began in the 1960s."

Just another screwed up politician that has no place in Canada's politics.

The TV coverage of Larry's rant in congress showed him saying that he doesn't link that Canada should have made homosexuality legal and that it should be a criminal offence. He went on to say that homosexuals can be trained to enjoy the opposite sex.

"People who have been practising homosexuals for most of their adult lives, like New Democratic MP Svend Robinson, could transform themselves into heterosexuals.

"I believe he could. I believe he would struggle with it," said Spencer, pointing out that someone could hate long-distance running or weightlifting but then train themselves in that area and learn to love it."

It's hard to belive that people like this can still exist in 2003. It shows nothng but true repression and inacceptance of mankind in general.

Do you really feel homosexuality should be considereed a crime and heavily fined? Moreover do you think that a homosexual can be "Trained" to prefer the opposite sex the same way you can learn to enjoy "running or weightlifting"?

I personally feel that this concept takes us back at least 40 years of progression and evolution,

What's even more frightening is this is a Canada Alliance MP who was the party's family issues critic. He was fired and then temporarily resigned from caucus for his comments.

I think much stronger action should be in place for this public display of homophibia and that even though free speech is a part of our freedoms, the comments speak volumes as to how this man really thinks and should remove him from political opinion for good.

We don't need leadership that drahs us backward in time.
