I have a cable modem connected to a WiFi mesh router and to a wired LAN. A device connected to the WiFi cannot access my NAS server on the wired LAN.

What are the IP-address of (a) the server and (b) a PC/laptop on the WifI mesh router and (c) a PC/laptop connected to the modem via an Ethernet-cable?

What exactly is “cannot access”? Doesn’t it show up, or does it give an error message when connecting?

      It’s a common issue.

Many routers block access for safety. So that’s one cause. Another which due to the mesh you may be on a different LAN. I usually fix this by moving to a non-mesh solution.

On your router, make sure the Ethernet cable is plugged into the correct Ethernet port—not the Internet port that’s used to connect your modem and router. If one Ethernet cable doesn’t work and you have another one nearby, try the other Ethernet cable to see if that works.
