I have just wiped a IBM ThinkPad 600 from having what it was designed to have (Windows 95) to Windows 98. I had a Bus Master IDE Controller Conflict that is taken care of I believe by removing it all together.
Computer Specs:
IBM ThinkPad 600
PII 266 or higher
64 MB RAM
PCMIA PC Card = Xircom RealPort Ehternet 10/100 RE-100 (Type III Card)
So I have @Home on my desktop which is connected. I have my Laptop configured with the required specifications for connecting to the @Home service for the PC Card. Everything is basically automatic and/or disabled.
A few things:
1. Does not connect and is being autoassigned IP which is wrong (should not be happening for @Home)
2. I was curious as to why the Laptop Ethernet Card has:
(Secure Lock Facing down) 1 2 3 0 0 6 0 0
where 0’s are not present for conductor prongs or whatever they technically are. Also number 1 is flush to the top.
I hope that is enough information and I haven’t confused anyone with that last question.
Anyway Good Luck and Thank you.
