Cannot mail or forward .pdf files

By frvr ·
I have an Exchange 2003 environment. All clients are Outlook 2003. Everyone in the company is able to send mail/messages with any type of attchment without any problems. Recently, 2 of our users have been experiencing the problem that they are unable to forward or mail any .pdf attachments. All other types, .xls, .doc, etc. work just fine. Any ideas?

Error messages?

Do they get any errors, at either the sender or recipient end?

Thank you for your quick reply Palmetto. That is one of the strange issues. No errors on either end. I thought that I might find something in the senders
Application Log, but nothing, and I even checked the System Log as well. I un-installed the complete Office 2003 package and re-installed it, with all patches. This gave the same results. I am at a complete loss.

Delete the user's e-mail profiles?

Is it just one .PDF giving these users problems, or more than one file? Can other users send the exact same .PDF files that are giving these two users problems? In other words, is the problem limited to only one .PDF?

Are they having problems sending .PDFs to multiple users or only one?

Is the anti-virus software on those two computers configured differently?

Does the recipient have a rule configured handling .PDF attachments?

Does the message with the attachment appear in the sender's Sent Items folder? If you set Outlook to work offline, does the message go into the Outbox folder?
