Cannot mount boot device

By Bobby Gillette ·
Real quick question... I'm running RedHat, everything runs fine, configured LILO to dual boot between XP and Linux... switched my drive after the installation to use UltraDMA, now I get the message it can't mount the volume and it hangs. Any idea onhow to overcome this?

TIA,

Cannot mount boot device

It appears to me that your Linux kernel does not support UltraDMA in its original installed state. Since you can't boot to compile a new kernel you'll probably just need to reinstall. It should add the proper modules for you.
