Cannot Run Outlook

By thunderpcconsultants ·
I just upgraded my hard drive and reloaded all the software. However my Outlook 2000 will not launch. It gives the error "Cannot start Outlook." and then explains to me that I need admin privileges to configure it, however I am the admin and havethose privileges. Any ideas?

I seem to recall that there's a "repair" link in the office setup.exe. Try re-running it and see if it offers to repair.
On second examination just now, I recalled (and checked) the CPs "Add/Remove Programs".
When you select Office and Change, oneof the selections is "Repair Office". Try it. It may save you a lot of grief!

Already tried the repair and also reinstalling it, doesn't fix it.

Well, the only other thing I can think of is the Permissions in the registry.
You might check Outlook.exe and see if the permissions are properly set.
Even the Admin may have permission denied if it's specifically set.
