I have several folders which hold data files that are having issues. A software package I’m using to check-in/out files and take ownership of projects is having a permissions issue with these folders.
I logged into the server under the Administrator account and tried to change the permissions to the folder. It said I only had permissions to read the security tab. I also tried logging in under a different domain admin account and got the same error.
The current permissions are set to “Everybody” has read access only. I need the Administrator account to have Full Access as the software service is started via the Administrator credentials. Many of the folders have the proper permissions and function properly but I can’t seem to change the permissions on these select folders.
Is there a way to force change those permissions? Also, I’ve tried stopping the check-in software service (in case it locked the folders down) as well as rebooting the file server and neither of those things helped. I’m lost.
