Can't connect client workstation to DNS Server domain.

By damianv1 ·
I'm a Student doing my practical hours at a corporate IT company. I've been assigned the task to set up a DNS Server. I have everything configured, but the client workstation I'm trying to join to the domain on the server keeps giving me the error (An Active directory Domain Controller(AD DC) for the domain "" could not be contacted.) - Even though they can ping eachother.

DNS Server IP :
Subnet mask :
Default Gateway:

Client PC IP:
Subnet Mask:
Default Gateway:

Been struggling for a while, If anyone can give me advice, it would be much appreciated.

Did you added the Domain name System \Computername , Domain and Work group settings.

Under system properties click on change and add in the section which says member of domain.

Make sure that the system is assigned with Ip address assined under the domain list
