I have a Sony Vaio that seems to have a strange problem.
Every so often, I will get a BSOD and the computer will start to try and reboot, but then will give me an error message that it can’t find the boot media.
I can cycle the power on and off and keep getting the message. I tried resetting the bios to it’s default settings and changing the boot order, but with no luck.
For a while the only thing that would work would be to turn it off for a while and try again later.
However, recently I found a solution that works everytime. I uplug the AC, remove the laptop battery, insert the batter, plug in the AC, start the computer and everything is fine. This has worked without fail for 10-12 times now.
So there are two issues:
1) Why does removing the AC and Battery fix the problem of not being able to find the boot media.
2) What is causing the BSOD in the first place.
Any thoughts?
