    by supportoranges ·

Aptiva E 190. m/b is SIS 530 chipset based. Audio is on-board. Perhaps motherboard is 530CF? I have reloaded Win92SE and it can’t find drivers for multimedia audio. Looked everywhere, what I downloaded did not work. Don’t have CD which came with machine. Device manager unable to locate or use what I try. Pls help!

Did you try this IBM page?

      http://tinyurl.com/gout

You need 1 more 4 digit number to identify the series of your PC.

Most motherboards in name brand systems are OEM custom. They may be similar to a standard motherboard, but usually have customized configurations and BIOS.

Start with the SiS 530 chip-set drivers for W98.

Is the audio a specific sound processor chip?
Or does it use a Codec (AC97)?

If a codec, you will need to get the driver from IBM.
If a specific sound processor, you may be able to use the generic driver for the SPECIFIC sound chip.

Hi and You need the IBM Aptiva CD for your pc.
The Aptiva of old is dependant on it’s own CD Disk.
I have a 95 Aptiva setup CD disk and you may have it if you wish. I “SHOTGUNNED” the machine long ago as the RAM and other componets are specific to Aptiva’s and nothing else will work and the replacement [parts] costs are exhorbrant to say the least.
IBM should have the CD disks you need as there are ususlly 2 of them.
Let me know in comment. fred
