Can’t map a network drive through VPN fr

by myteinfo . Updated 24 years, 11 months ago

I am using win98, VPN is already connected to
my RAS server running on BDC with NT 4.0 & SP6a. I tried to map a network drive to the database server which is a member server on
the same domain, same subnet. Other NT client has no problem to map tothe same
server.

The problem I have:

1. tried from Neighborhood,
\\\d$
D=server drive where the application stored
I was asked a password without asking user ID
I enter my a password which is a domain administrator account. error came back as:
invalid password. I use the same password mapping to another member server without problem and NT clients use same way and it
connected the d$ drive without any problem.

2. I tried another way using net use statement on command prompt. It did not work.

?why w98 does not ask user ID and what ID
does it use when it only ask password?

Does anyone have any idea about this issue?
Thanks in advance for any suggestion.
