Can't move focus to control in Access97

By frankus ·
I am getting a "runtime error 2110 - can't move focus to control. The explanations that come up do not apply. What are some of the reasons for this which MS Access doesn't reveal.

There could be a number of reasons - and all have to do with the control's property settings. With the Form open in Design View double click on the control to open its Properties window:

Verify Visible = Yes, Display When = Always, Enabled = Yes, and if you want focus to automatically go to the control set its Tab Stop property to Yes and the Tab Index value to the next number above the object that has focus just before your control.

Save everything and switch to Form View and Tab too - or click on the control.
