By kazzbar ·
I am trying to setup a small network to share printers and files. The win2000 pro and the xp pro see and share both ways the win98 can see and share with the win 2000 both ways the me can see the 2000 and the win98se. The problem seems to be networking with the me and the 98se to the xp pro I have tried everything I can think of. Any suggestions. I am using a 4 port netgear, switch, firewall print server.

I would like to help but you don't clearly state the actual problem or the overall setup of the network. Is everything on one subnet? Are he XP and 2000 machines NTFS or Fat? Just need more details... The only advice i can give for now, is to makesure everything is on the same subnet and uses the same subnet mask....

-All computers must use "Microsoft Network Client" and the same workgroup.
-Use for all computers IP addresses from the same class( and the same mask address (
-All users must login with an "username" and a "pasword".
-On Win2k and WinXP you must add new accounts for Win98 and WinME users.
For specific problems give us more details.
