    can’t open recordset in html page

    Hi!! i am recently using visual interdev, one of my problem is that when i drop a design time recordset on my html page, and everythings set correctly, but nothings come out when i run the page. From my sql events log, it also didn’t show anythings.when i try to change .html to .asp, everything ok.
    thanks if anyone could tell me the problems or solutions…

      Take a look at your code. Do you have <% %> tags in it? This indicates that you are using ASP, or VBScript, that runs on the web server side. You should have some createobject statements that are making the connection and retrieving your recordset. You cannot process this script in an HTML page, it won’t work. ASP allows you to run script on the server to process or do something before returning the page to the client. If you have any knowledge using Visual Basic, then ASP will be easy to learn. Two good web pages to learn ASP are 4guysfromrolla.com and activeserverpages.com. Hope this helps!!!!

      i have run the same page on my colleague’s computer and it’s run, even it’s using .htm

      it’s actually a solution provided in “Mastering Web Application development CD”.
