can't ping the pc

no one can't ping or access the shared drives(shared for Everyone)1 particular pc(installed Win XP)...user of that pc can access other PCs.

How many PC's have you got connected. XP has a limit of ten consecutive connections.

Check that your PC's are all in the same Workgroup. EG: 'WORKGROUP'.
<br><br>

Click Start, Run and type in cmd click OK or press Enter. At the command prompt type in <b>ipconfig /all > c:\ws1.txt</b> Use it to compare all of the settings to the non working PC.

This is what you are comparing: <i>Apart from the IP Address being in the same Range the other settings should match</i>.

Subnet Mask . . . . . . . . . . .
<br><br>
Default Gateway . . . . . . . . .
<br><br>
DNS Servers . . . . . . . . . . .
<br><br>
Check your Firewall settings.
<br><br>

Check that File and Print Sharing is enabled on the PC and that the Share has the User listed with Full Control. You should then be able to access this Share from another PC using the Account credentials.
