Can’t Print from one Desktop

    Locked

    by willyboy54 ·

When logged in on my desktop I can print anything. When my wife logs in on the same computer to her desktop, we can’t print anything. I’ve done the HP diagnostic all the way through and it concluded that I had a software problem. I went to MicroSoft’s online help and did their diagnostic, which is identical to HP’s. Same results. By the way, I am able to print a test page from my wife’s desktop but no other documents. I tried Word, Excel, Notepad, et. al. I think it’s a simple setting problem but the diagnostics took me through all the settings that usually cause these problems. Does anyone have an idea?

What are your Wifes User Account Permissions?

If they are set to Limited this could be the problem if you need to change this you need to log in with the Administrator Account this should be your User Account and then open the Control Panel switch to Classic View and then open User Accounts.

Select Change a Account and in the next Window select the Wifes Account by Left Clicking on it and then Select Change the Account Type and add a green dot to the Computer Administrator circle and left click the Change Account Type Tab.

This will grant your Wife Administrator Privileges and it should allow her to print whatever she requires.
