Can't see application in user accounts

By vjsobol ·
I recently installed Redhat Linux 7.2.4 on to a older Compaq with a 2 gig hard drive, 64mb ram, and a 166mhz processor. I also installed StarOffice from Root. I can see and use StarOffice in Root. I created a user account and cannot figure out how to see and use StarOffice from my user account.
Would please help me with this problem?

Thank you,

Vince Sobol

You have to navigate to the root directory and start it from there. The easiest way is to create an app launcher to the program.

Well, I thought about it. A properly contructed
app-launcher will not be a loss in security.
I just haven't learned how to do that w/o
leaving gaping holes that an inquisitive, bright
wholesome child couldn't drive a truck though.
(If the app runs as root.)
