Can’t send email to certain domains

    Locked

The problem I have is that I am running Exchange 2K (SP1) on Win2K servers in a clustered environment and all has been running smoothly with all users being able to send emails to any domain. As of today users are unable to send emails to a particular domain. All users get an NDR almost immediately. I have tried a DNS flush to no avail. This is now causing us serious issues so all suggestions will be greatly received.

As a first step, do a tracert to that domain and see if the problem is with an enternal or external ip. The problem is probably at their end (or near their end), since you are able to send e-mails elsewhere.

This has happened to us before. All of a sudden we could not send e-mail to texas.net. The problem was someone was using our server to relay mail and Texas.net has someone monitoring SPAM. That place blocked us from sending to texas.net anymore. You can go to http://mail-abuse.org and see if you IP address is being blocked by them. If it is being blocked the only way to get off thier “list” is to fix your server so no one can relay mail off you. After you have fixed it they, “MAPS RELAY SPAM STOPPER” will test your server and take you off the “list”
