Can’t set-up a dial-up connection in XP

by mark.phillips . Updated 23 years, 8 months ago

After reinstalling XP I?m on a standalone PC, I am unable to establish/set-up a dial-up connection in XP. Using the ?New Connection Wizard?, ?Internet Connection?, only option 3 ?connect using, ?Connect using a broadband connection that is always on?, the other two, ?Broadband with username & password? and ?Connect using dial-up modem? are Grayed-Out and not available. I?ve uninstalled the Modem, an external USR 56k Sportster, restarted the PC and it has been detected and reinstalled by win XP and available in Device Manager, enabled. The PC/dial-up connection was working fine until reinstalling XP. Any thoughts on a fix would be appreciated.
