Cant shutdown in Windows XP anymore...

By staceyw ·
Before I used to be able to click the start menu in WinXP and choose "turn Off" to shut down normally fine. My computer would automatically power down and all I would have to do is turn the monitor off. But since the past few days everytime I try toshut down it will reboot! I have tried time and time again and every time my comnputer will reboot and I will see the BIOS screen and the POST initialize and then it will load WinXP all over again! I dont know what happened but how do I fix it? Right now I choose turn off computer and when i see WinXP shut down and the BIOS start I just click the power off, but I dont want to keep doin that... ANyone ever come across this problem with WinXP before?? With it not wanting to shutdown? or in my case with it restarting everytime you try to shutdown? It used to turn off fine for months and months without a hitch! Please help!
