Can’t Uninstall AOL Client

My daughter installed the free AOL software from a CD that she got in the mail. I went to add and remove programs to uninstall it. It appeared to uninstall, but I am still connecting to aol’s login page and my internet explorer icons keep changingto aol. The IE page blue bar also says internet provided by aol. How do I get rid of this product short of removing the OS?
