Can’t use Spell Check

Had this system built about 3 weeks ago, and as I wrote a e-mail I realized that the spell check will not work. The icon can be removed and added to the tool bar but is not active when clicked on.

The file verification program does not show any corruption or missing files. I called a friend who also has a XP operating system and he said that this happened to him after a security update.

When I got the comp. I updated it with all the critical updates and security patches. Norton System works has made a few repairs but they have been in the AutoCad programs I have installed. And there were a couple of registry fixes but nothing major. I always let System Works decide how to make the repairs.

Is there a way to fix this?
