Can't view the complete list of users.

By alkema ·
The list of users on the W2K Adv. Server is not completely displayed on a Windows'98 PC when you add a share and want to add a user to this share.

This occurs only when you are logged on a a nonpriviledged users (admins can see them all, so it isnot Win'98?).

I can't find out why some users are displayed and others not, however users added with the DOS command 'net user <name>' seems never to appear in this list.

Thanks, Roel

If you are using Active Directory, see where "net user" creates the users in. Is it a different location from other methods? If so, select the top "Active Directory Users and Computers", then "View", "Advanced Options". Then use right-click, and properties to view security options on Users and the folders they are contained in.

It sounds like not everyone has permisions to read or list some of the users.

Thanks. The users were all in the same container, but indeed the security settings were different.
