Name association

by Oz_Media In reply to Certs

I used name association to remember all the technical terms when studying automotive (believe it or not, there are more formulas, technical terms and rules to remember when writing the Autoivie Journeymans test than when I wrote my Master CNE test!)

I used to teach name association to students in a sales course, you taqke a name and think of something ridiculous to associate with it.

i.e. NDPS = Novell Distributed Print Server
Could be No Dumb Print Stuff easier to remember what NDPS is that way. Not a great example but you get the idea, just think of something nutty to fit the acronyms etc.

For remembering lists, put them into a sentence.

Johnny Carson

Could be Juohnny Carson was camping in his Trailer that was hitched to his Cadillac when a tree full of oranges came crashing down on top of it.

Absolutely crazy but you don't forget it.
