In Win98 how do you change the programe association of a file?

Right click on the file in question while holding down the Shift key, select Open With. Choose the program you want to use to open the file. Check the box for "always use this program to open this type of file"

This isn't the only way to do it, just the quickest.

In the Windows directory there is a file called "Winfile.exe" it has a file cabinet as a Icon.
This is the old Windows 3.1 and 95 windows explorer, then called 'File Manager"
Double click on it to open it. Highlight the file you wish to change theassociation properties for and click on the "file tab" then click on "associations" A list will be displayed for you to choose from. Or you can browse to pick your own.
