change ftp passwords using IE??

By andreas.m.guenther ·
I would like to give my users the ability to change their ftp (ServU-FTP server) passwords using IE >5.01? Is there a syntax/trick how to do this?

The only way I could think of is to provide a CGI interface to pass the values on. Unfortunately I'm not good on syntax with those types of things, find a CGI guru who can help you further.

You could set up a simple CGI web form that asks for username, current and new password, then uses a simple expect script (see expect, by Don Libes, in search engines) to operate the change in your actual password system.

Hope this helps,

serv-u is win32 based as far as i know.
serv-u manages passwords in a main file in cleartext. It is pretty easy to parse. You can write a cgi interface to accomplish your goal.
