Changes to a shared calendar

CEO’s Exchange 2000 calendar can be updated by his secretary. Appts can be months out. He wants a way to be notified now when a change is made. He does NOT want this notification to be an email, voice mail or post-it note. More like a pop-up notification next time he logs in. Any way to do this or 3rd party sofware?
