at my workplace we’re looking at changing the domain\administrator password, which hasn’t been changed for a very long time.
The problem here is that we have multiple applications, printers etc that rely on authentication from the domain\administrator account, and as this has been the case for many years, we’re not sure of what things use it.
Is there any way to check what is using the domain\administrator account? For example, our Sophos previously used the domain\administrator account for AV updates, scans and installations on workstations (this was pretty issue to fix – creating a limited sophosadmin account specifically for those tasks and substituting its details in the sophos enterprise console).
