Click the start button. click shutdown. open the options list and click LOGOFF. click OK.
Windows logs off the current user and allows you to log in a new user. you can take it from there.

Which change

Do you wish to change the logged on user or the register user of the computer. The later is done via regedit. Do a find on previous user name and then edit to new name. You can also from control panels delete the other user, add new etc. including assigning passwords. You can also delete the username.pwl file from the root c:. Then restart which forces a new user configuration.

Changing Username

In Win98 SE, go to Start, then run. In the command line type in REGEDIT. When the Registry Editor screen comes up, hit the F3 key. This brings up a "Find What?" screen. Type in the username, i.e., Jim Foster, in the blank line, then hit enter. It will search the entire registry for your name. Every entry that appears, delete them. But, only delete the entries with the username in them. Keep searching until you see that there are no more in the registry. When that is completed, re-boot the machine. You will then be prompted to load in a new username and password, if applicable. Hope this helps.
