On the first page https://www.google.com/search?client=firefox-b-d&q=chat+plugin+wordpress I see sites giving the 7, 8, 15 or 16 “best” plugins.

I would start studying those to get your requirements more clear. That would certainly help you to choose the best for *you*.

As per me, you should try the AtomChat chat plugin for your wordpress website. It is a good chat plugin and you can easily integrate the AtomChat chat plugin with your wordpress website, and it also has the integrations of 30 other platforms as well.
