Checking File Integrity before Download

By newsforubalaji ·
I am facing a problem while downloading files from internet, some files are corrupt and even after re-download it is corrupt it seems that it might be corrupt in the server itself. Is there any mechanism to find whether a file is corrupt or not before downloading itself?,since it saves a lot of time.

There's really no way to check a file at the server before you download. If you think the problem is a bad file on the server then do a search for that filename and download it from a different location.

Additionally, the file might be OK on the server but it could be getting corrupted while being downloaded due to communication issues between your pc and the server. I've had it occasisonally where certain download sites produced corrupted dowloads and I could usually resolve the issue by downloading from a differennt site.

Cheers.
